Scuba diving is as close as most of us will get to being in an alien environment. Swimming next to a sea turtle, 20 meters under the surface of the sea, breathing comfortably, can certainly be quite a bizarre experience!

With a bit of guidance however, all should be able to savour this unique experience. That's why we recomment reading Warrick Howard's Guide to Scuba Diving. It covers everything you need to know and tells you where some of the best dive spots are in the world.

Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is one of the hottest new water sports around. It crosses wake boarding and wind surfing, giving an adrenaline fuelled ride. You’re strapped onto a board, attached to a kite, and you use the wind to propel yourself across the water.

There are some stunning settings for kitesurfing, such as along the coast of New Brunswick in Canada, in the clear blue waters of Southern Calamianes Region in the Philippines and on Dahab lagoon in Egypt.

You can even kitesurf down the Amazon River in South America if you’re looking for an adventure!
