Volunteering with animals on your gap year is a great thing to do in itself – and if you want to work with animals in the future, it will do your CV no harm at all.

There are hundreds of opportunities to volunteer with animals, many you won’t have thought of before. Imagine rehabilitating orang-utans in Borneo, darting lions from a helicopter in South Africa or taking care of tigers in Thailand.

Volunteering with animals is a real ‘hands-on’ experience. You might well be dealing with some of the world’s most endangered species on a daily basis, helping to save them from extinction.
