There are loads of ways for you to leave your mark on gapyear.com. We are a site built by backpackers, for backpackers, so we want to hear from anybody that feels they can contribute in any shape or form.

You can be involved at any time before, during and after your gap year. Some bits can take five minutes, other stuff a couple of hours - the choice is yours. You tell us how you want to help and we will find something for you.



What are the advantages of getting involved?

Apart from receiving undying love and adulation from the gapyear.com team, there are many other reasons for giving up your time to the site.

    Find a travel mate

    All of your mates are heading to uni or are too broke to jet off round the world. On the other hand, you decide that this gap year melarkey is right up your street and don't want to let insignificant things like friends hold you back.

    However, the thought of travelling solo is a wee bit daunting and you'd like to meet up with other gappers on your trip.     Organise a meet up

    Thousands of people just like you use gapyear.com. And there's nothing better than meeting up with other members to discuss your travel plans over a few beers. Whether you're sunning it in Sydney or Thai-d up in Bangkok, you'll be surprised at how many gapyear.commers are in your area.

    Share your travel tales

    Have you got up to something amazing that you wanted to share with gapyear.com users? Maybe you've:

    Become a moderator

    The messageboards are essentially the 'hub' of gapyear.com and are where everyone heads to get tips, advice and to check out each others plans. The trusty team of gapyear.com moderatorsd are always on hand to dish out advice and to ensure that all messages posted are relevant, current and of use.
