Our African gap programmes are for school leavers and graduates who want to prepare to lead successful lives in the very challenging world of the future.

Unique workshops and seminars, which focus on the future of work and play, are held in Johannesburg and are facilitated by leading thinkers and practitioners who share a vision of the world of tomorrow and the mindset and attitudes necessary to succeed. In addition, experts from different industries expose the career opportunities of the future.

The Lapalala Wilderness School in the Limpopo Province of South Africa is the base for the environmental part of the programme. Outward Bound experiences are built into the programme to develop participants' self confidence and to bring them together as friends and team members.

Each participant will develop a structured plan (as a guide to achieving their goals), and is profiled by a professional Human Resources specialist so as to identify career options best suited to their preferences and abilities.

Participants can choose to join in the three-week Core Programme starting at different dates throughout the year, or to spend three months on the longer programme starting on 1st July 2007.

In addition, any number of volunteering weeks, up to an extra 12 weeks, can be added onto the duration of the programme, during which volunteers can work with conservation projects or with the local community.
