Bula from Fiji!

Hop-on hop-off backapcker bus passes are a very good thing indeed. I booked the Feejee Experience as it offers loads of activities on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu, that would be very hard to sort yourself. These include visiting a local school/orphanage, a remote rainforest trek, bilibi rafting and river tubing. The Exp has a big heart, too - on Monday we visited a village where money from backpackers has built a new health centre. I was planning to do the trip in minimal time before heading out to the islands. That was before Mango Bay. Situated on the Coral Coast - Mango Bay is a - handy marketing term alert - flashpackers resort. Basically , it looks more like something out of Sunday Times Travel than a hostel. Three of us are sharing a fancy-as-you-like safari tent with an outside shower for about 12 pounds. In our hectic schedule of eating, sleeping and crisping ourselves we’ve found time for snorkelling with reef sharks, visiting a deserted desert island and watching each stunning sunset from the beach-side pool. Backpacking never tasted so good!

As a pie master, everything is bound to taste good as long as you consume in adequate quantity!

Have just started reading your diary and it is bula! Given me food for thought for when i finally get to Fiji. Im currently typing away at Singapore Airport- very swanky. Just been In India for 1 month and fly to Vietnam in about an hour or so.

Well keep up the good work and have a fab time. Keep the good posts coming.

It sounds as if you are having a really tough time of it in Fiji - forced to lie in hammocks, drink alcohol and laze about crisping yourself - ah well, somebody has got to do it!
