OHMYGOD…. when was the last time I posted on here…. I have a feeling it was quite a long time ago so (not that you’re interested) I’ll fill in the blanks.
So, okay, I left Auckland a couple of months ago now which was quite odd. I’d been there since January, and I’d become quite used to everything, had a job, somewhere to live, got to know a few people, knew my way around but it was quite difficult because I didn’t have a car, so getting anywhere proved to be a bit of a hassle. I lived about 15 mins (by bus) outside the city, and as pretty safe as it was, it eventually got quite boring… so I decided that enough was enough and I left.
I’m now in Wellington (all those who I actually want to know all of this do, so I’m unsure as to the point of retelling everything, but oh well!), and it’s much better. It’s a lot artier and smaller than Auckland and as a capital - does NZ proud. Since being down here, Marcus and I have been to the Rugby (Wellington Hurricanes vs Aus Warratahs), the ballet, a few theatre productions, STOMP (it OWNED, go and see it if you like trashcan/broom/percussion/erm lots of shuffling and stuff.
We also went, a few months ago, to the Bay of Islands (just off the north bit of the North Island) for a few Days, and visited Paihia and Russell, across the bay. We were dubious as weather forcast hadn’t been great but it was perfect. It’s a really small area thats set out for tourists, and despite a (very early) start in the morning to go fishing, it was great fun with stunning scenery. I just wouldn’t go there again in a hurry as fishing is the main attraction, and once is quite enough thankyou.
We’re living in the centre of Wellington at the moment in an area called Courtenay Place. A huge change from Auckland but definitely a better one. It’s pretty central and the noise from Boy racers and Police cars can get tedious but it’s lively and fun, and much more exciting.
Karina also came down a few weeks ago with Leslie to stay with us for a few days which was awesome. We tried to do as much as possible, including Cuba Mall (jen - every shop reminds me of you!), the cable car, Coyotes on the night they arrived (Karina thought this was a replica of Coyote Ugly - the film with the singer with the weird eyes?!), and Oriental Parade (a long stretch of road that follows a manmade beach). It was so cool to see her again, made me realise how long I’ve been away but how quickly it’s gone!!
So only a couple of weeks ot go until I leave NZ altogether. I’m not sure of the date but it’s the cook islands first, when on to Fiji for 2 weeks or so with Marcus. The forecast isn’t great, BUT if it goes anything like the Bay of Islands then everything’ll be Aokay. We plan to visit all of the islands that we can with the 14 day pass you can buy, and I really want to do some scuba diving along the way. The courses are pretty $$$, so maybe I’ll just have to stick to my goggles and flippers.:s
Marcus and I decided after much deliberation that he would come to England with me as opposed to me staying and studying in NZ. I’m so looking forward to showing him the perkin and wellington (somerset)..only kidding, but I think he’ll be shocked at just how different the countries are, despite both being rules by queenie. I can’t wait to have him home with me and for everyone to meet him. (Get him to say water and bolognaise…. he speaks real funny like).
Anyway, this has been a really long post and there’s things that I havent included but I can’t be bothered - I’m lazy and I’m quite bloated.
I’ll try and write when I’m in the islands but (not to sound really horribly arrogant) I’m not sure if any places have the internet, or a phone, fax, cups, some string….. but I’ll see you all at some point anyway so it doesn’t really matter.
Take care and see you soon (30th July!)

woo, you haven’t posted here in ages.. just thought i would let you know that someone was reading, even if it was only me, and i did speak to you only a week ago.
sounds like everything is going swimmingly out there.. am looking forward to meeting marcus and treating him like a monkey as you advised. and don’t mock your roots, you are still fiona from the block and he should be honoured to see such wonders as wellington and the perkin.
yes, you are bloated. you make me sick.
it is a sunny day here, although the morning started with THUNDERSTORMS.. but i am not awake in the mornings, so missed it. there are lots of boys (matthew’s friends) bouncing about inside, but true to form, i am holed up in my room with my computer. although i did play tennis earlier on. score.
anyway, i have nothing else to say, and this is your site not mine, so i will shut up.
keep your trousers up, mofo xxx
