STRAIGHTENERS *sorry*

:x Hi girls. It seems all of you are sitting tapping keyboard all the time. Can you please tell us what else you do in your spare times? like earning a living, study or what? I am puzzled. My one guess is, you all work for gapyear.com. Correct me if I am wrong.

No, honestly - I think we just all work really mundane jobs and enjoy spending time on Gapyear and dreaming about our trips!!! Well, that’s me anyway! x

well i work all day and can use the net at work (well im not allowed but i havent been told off yet!) coming on this site sort of saves me from going insane at work, if i get really stressed i can come on here and usually find a really random or funny post and it reminds of why im slaving away in that flippin dr’s surgery being verbally abused day after day after day doing the work of 3 people (soon to be 4 another one is going :cry: )
plus im really fast typer so it doesnt take me long to do a post

oh yeah and i just want to add that seeing as im saving to go away and dont have any money to spend i stay in most nights. but not tomorrow woo hoo!!

:cry: Feel sorry for you, Sarah. I am a GP and I am packing up in June this year. Had enough of Medicine. I agree people are different now. Younger generation are like that.( But I don’t mean you and others in this blog). But are you short staffed? There are 16 efficient and lovely ladies working in my practice. They are always happy. And my practice is called “Happiest practice in the town” by othe practices. ( Now I will tell Manager to keep an eye that no one goes on internet !, Thank for the tip)

NOOOOOO, Dont take the internet away from them, it s prob the reason why your staff are so happy, I know thats it the only thing keeping me going working at this time on a friday night :D

Yeah i have a boring job too, at the moment im a receptionist, either for Ferrari or Lamboghini, depending what day of the week it is, and if it wasn’t for gapyear, i definatly would have gone insane!

Funnily enough, not that many customers to made coffee for!

I’m a teacher, I have the internet on at lunchtimes only obviously!  I have no money to go out. either, this is the most social life I have at the moment!  How sad am I.  :oops:

that about sums me up. Except I’m not a teacher - just too broke to go out, so spend the time on the net! I’m a sucky customer services advisor - not what I’d recommend for others on their gap year!!

Edited to add, loads of girls had them up & down the coast (when I was mostly in hostels to notice) so loads more people take them than we realise!

Hair related comment: There was a girl in our hostel in Airlie Beach who was a hairdresser and had her scissors etc with her as she was looking for a hairdressing job and she cut me and my mates hair for $15, bargain!
