Hi,
My name is Sara. I’ve been working for the last year or so in CHiang Mai Thailand. When I arrived here I discovered that there are a number of outstanding humanitarian organizations in Chiang Mai. They work with issues such as: HIV, exploitation of refugees, human trafficking, poverty and more. I wanted to do something to help these organizations but was unsure where to start. After meeting with several of the organizations, it became clear that these organizations need volunteers and supplies more than anything. Thus, the idea for Cultural Canvas Thailand was formed.
Cultural Canvas places international volunteers with local humanitarian organizations in need of service. Please let me know if you would like to help.

I know it isn’t related to the original topic but here’s a volunteering opportunity run by a non profit organisation- so it’s not ridiculously expensive.
Hi Sara,
I noticed your post a month or so ago and had a look at your website. I thought it looked pretty good and the organisations really worthwhile. I’m coming over to Thailand in December for six months and would like to get involved! Should I just apply through the website?
Was wondering what Chang Mai is like to live in? And what is your accommodation like and are there many volunteers about? Also any info on the type of work that you need people for just now would be appreciated!
Hopefully speak to you soon.
Eileen
Thanks for the info Sara. Cool I’ll apply through the website. Am having a career break to travel/volunteer, i’ve done loads of travelling but never volunteered before and am really looking forward to it. I would be happy to teach, I read on the website it would be teaching English and computer skills which I would be happy to do.
Speak to you later
Eileen
hi Sara, like julz, i’ve been a bit put off by the overpriced programmes from the large organizations.
i’ll be traveling for a year, so am on a budget, so this of course is a factor.
i had a quick look at the site and it all looks good.
i won’t be in thailand until july or august, so will have a look back closer the time.
rob.
