Hey,

Well I got here ok, flight was long and tedious but ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ and U2 got me through it. It’s really hot, about 40’, there was a storm this morning- was cool, quite literally as it made the weather much better for a bit. Met some dutch people at Heathrow who came on a flight just before mine, they had to leave yesterday though as they are heading to the south to catch a friend whilst heres here. So i ended up getting drunk with some japanese guys listening to a local rock band- quite good! This morning I felt reallllly alone and like shit. Got better through the day though as I went on a river boat trip for 1hr and around Bangkok to some of the major sites. Kho San (spelling?) Road is crazy, theres thousands of backpackers here. I’m booked to go to the North tommorow (mountain place, cant think of the name off hand) for 5 days, which includes trekking, riding on elephants, bamboo rafting and its in groups which is a good thing. I’ve realised pretty quickly that sometimes it’s going to be really lonely but when I think of what I’m actualy doing its soon all better! I’ve already met some crazy characters, theres ‘Hey its me, Johnny’ who invited me to a ‘ping pong’ show, I declined.. Also the travel agent guy who said ‘hey so you are a diamond geezer yeah’, haha. Word of warning: avoid Tuk-Tuks (have to have 1 ride though for the experience) and avoid TAT, apparently I got ripped off on my trip north. Could be a while till I’m next on…
Speak later,
Adam
