I just finished ‘This is Paradise! My north Korean childhood’ by Hyok Kang

It is definitely worth a read! Very depressing at parts though but gives you an amazing insight into life in North Korea.
One of the reviews on the actual book state ‘An engrossing picture of a nation that remains closed to the world, aptly described as the Jurassic Park of communism’ which I think describes it perfectly.

I second Into the Wild…fantastic.
Jurassic Park is good, I imagine it’s even better when you are in the middle of the jungle somewhere afraid of being eaten by a velociraptor :).
Angels and Demons and Deception Point by Dan Brown are really awesome.

cant believe no one here has mentioned “Robinson Crusoe”

Left stranded on a desert island for 30 years or so, and I personally LOVE the old english style of writing.

AMAZING book, I mean really, it had my heart beating out of its cage at the point where he sees a footprint on the beach… lol i sound such a nerd but i cant recommend it enough.
