Before I headed to Nicaragua, when I was in Dominical, some friends and I were going to go to a bar and play some pool for the night.  My friend Trevor (he’s a surfer) said he’d meet us there, but 2 hours later i’d figured that he’d gone to bed.  So I walked to the campsite and shook Trevors tent to wake him up, no reply, so I undid the zip and Trevor’s lying there with his eyes wide open, I’m like Oh cool he’s awake, “come on Trevor lets go and play pool” and trevor says “Thats a good wave”, I’m thinking, huh??! “Come on Trevor get up lets go play some pool” he’s then like “theres another one!!”, so i figured that he was still asleep, so left him to it, how funny??!
We then travelled to the capital and Trevor and I were in the same dorm along with 4 others.  I had my towel hanging on my bed, and apparently I woke several of my dorm buddies up shouting “is that a towel??!, No, it can’t be a towel!! Oh my god thats not a towel is it??!”
So when Trevor told me in the morning I had second thoughts about sleeping in a dorm again!!
Anyhow, I went up to Nicaragua (which I said about in a previous update I think!) and worked for 4 days with Street Kids which was awesome, great kids, some as young as 3 wondering the streets with their brothers and sisters, selling sweets, polishing shoes, whatever they can do to make money for their familes.
Got back to Costa Rica last thursday, and headed for a huge Quiksilver surf contest on the Pacific coast, had an awesome weekend.  Saturday night, well, about 4am, my friend Scotty was sitting smoking on the beach, literally 4metres from where we were all staying, had a gun put to his head and robbed, and had his wallet stolen.  So he came to our cabina and we spent the next hour calming him down, he wasn’t worried about money or his cards or driving license he was worried about his 2 year old son back home.
Later that morning, after sunrise, we all go and sit on the beach and this Tico dude comes up and starts speaking to Scotty, we go to bed.  Apparently the Tico dude said to Scotty, that he knew what had just happened to him, and he knew who did it.  He disappeared for a couple of minutes, and came back with Scotty’s wallet.  It had everything in it except for about $300, all the Costa Rican currency was still in there, cards, ID etc. still in there, very odd.
I get home next week, and cannot wait, missing everything like crazy!!
