Anyone climbed Mount Kili before? I’m doing it for charity in October.

Was wondering if anyone had any good tips for training. The info I’ve been given so far by the charity just says do a lot of walking. I do that already but somehow don’t feel it’s enough!

I’m planning to go up Ben Nevis in August and carry a rucksack frull of bricks or something. Would be great to hear people’s experiences - good and bad!

Which route are you doing? I climbed Kili last October and did no training (it was a work tour leading opportunity sprung on me at the last minute).

I would advise that you get yourself as fit as you can - doing plenty of exercise and fitness stuff as it takes a certain degree of stamina. You are likely to be trekking for up to 7 hours on the average day.

Which company are you doing the trip with?

Thanks for the tip! Sounds like I need to get to work.

The company is called Skyline Overseas. I didn’t choose them - the charity I’m doing it for uses them.

I think I’m doing the Machame Route.
