Hey, thinking of going to Fiji and the Cook islands in August and September next year, anyone know if this is a good time to go?
Also if anyone would like to join me or has any advice on travelling around there then let me know!! :D
Thanks, Pop xxx
It’s a great time of year in Fiji. The end of the dry season, so really hot, hardly any mosquios and tends to be full of life then (Northern Hempishere people travelling during their holidays, Souther Hemisphere people escaping thier winter). My favorite place is Vorovoro island for Fijian culture, Waya in the Yasawas for a relaxing time on the beach and Taveuni for diving.
Have a good trip!
Hi poppy
I’m off to Fiji in jan then to NZ (an staying in NZ for at least a year) but was hoping at some point to head on over to the Cook Islands from nz. Get in touch nearer the time if you still need travel buddies

Hey poppy, im going to be in Fiji between 26th July and 12th August next year. Hopefully see you there!
Sounds great! i’ll be in touch, just got to decide on definite dates!!
xx
hey,
I’m looking to head to Fiji and cooks but about 2 years of saving first! went to Fiji this year and looking to return as soon as I can via cooks, tonga and samoa. Aug - Setember should be very hot, some rain but is was a welcome relief for us, as we were doing building volunteering so hard work in the sun. Western side of Nadi usually gets less rain, but head east to ovalau or north to vanua levu to see the real Fijian life. The best bit about fiji is the villages, the culture and the tradtional life. I’ve heard great things about Aitutaki in the cook islands too if you get to go there, looks incredible. Have a blast! samo
Will be in Fiji for roughly 2 weeks between 1st August and the 14th! Cannot wait!
Woooooooo got my dates sorted, 8th - 20th August, probably going to do the tropical awegasm tour!! great to know if other people will be out there at the same time!!
Xx
Hey, Im doing Tropical Awegasm from 27th July, so Ill be a few days ahead of you! I cannot wait! Fijis the place im currently looking forward to the most on my RTW trip!
Most looking forward to Fiji too (get in May 5th), not doing the tour though as it was cheaper for me to arrange myself where and when i want to change islands etc, more freedom.
hiya…
I’m hoping to be in fiji at the beginning of sept before i go to australia!
hope travel plans are going well everyone :) xx
hi went to cook islands in march, its amazing so idilic but quite pricey so make sure you save quite a bit for that. Food is exy even if you self cater so just keep that in mind, meals out are about $30-35 and even noodles in the shops to cook for yourself are around $5
Just back from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, can highly recommend RAROTONGA BACKPACKERS. This is not the same as International Backpackers which isn’t great, very basic and quite dirty. Can only book directly through the website, check out tripadvisor for reviews.
