Hey!
Had a fantastic week, Langkawi was very pretty but blooming boring really, we were only there for 5 days but it seemed a lot longer. Didnt do much very interesting towards the end, just relaxed lots and lots, we did go to a restaurant which was located next to a paddy field so that was really cool to do and our fave restaurant out there was called charlies place, that was at the yacht club and on the jetty over the water which was cool too!
On the last day we got talking and decided that we really didnt want to fly to Sandakan, its another 4 hours each way and then we would have to go on a 13 hour flight back to the UK.
So with that in mind and the fact i naerly died when mum emailed me my bank balance we decided to go to STA travel and get a flight home like next week.
So off we toddled this morning at 10am so we were half asleep, ast in there and we were pffered the choice we acn come home on wednesday but that would mean flying to heathrow an having to catch a train home etc, or the other option was to come home tonight arriving in manchester at 6am on tuesday the 24th august, so we rashl;y opted for that one!
So its our last day in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and the last day of our entire trip today! Back to sunny Sheffield, woopee doo! sort of excited and sort of gutted, its been a brilliant few months and its really flown, we are coming home prematurely we know, we were supposed to be here until october but really if you saw my bank balance you’d understand!
I cant believe all the things we have done, its been crazy, our 1st day in KL back in june was rushed and we slept but we got to enjoy the night markets, and then it was off for a week in penang, its such a gorgeous little island and plenty of things to see and do, like all the temples, we even have bought a slate to go on top of the kek lok si statue, we signed it and made a wish for each and everyone we love, dont think there will be many other people i know who will own a slate on a temple statue?!
after a week in penang it was G’day to Sydney, then Melbourne, Cairns, Noosa, Surfers Paradise and Brisbane! After all that we flew back to Kuala Lumpur, spent 4 or 5 days here, i enjoyed my first taste of malaysian reflexology, had my hair all cut and re styled, and did plenty of shopping and bought lots of shoes! how could i say no really when i can buy a cute pair of shoes for under a fiver?!
Then it was off to Langkawi, a bit of a slow 5 days out there but we did fly business class and got treat like royalty which is so novel for us, we spent the whole time giggling like little kids, and we managed to fill our rucksacks with plenty of free drinks from the golden lounge! LoL!
Highlight of the week in Langkawi was probably going to the duty free and buying a litre of absolut vanilla vodak for 7quid and then Jay drank half of it on one night, bless him and his sore head he had the day after!
So its our last day, bit gutted really, on the way back from STA this morning we went to the petronas towers (the biggest towers in the world now) we were going to go up and cross the bridge which is about half way up, but the blooming thing is closed to visitors on a monday! Bugger!
Anyway hopefully next time??
Luckily we are gettin on better, was always a risk coming away with Jay after being together for so little time, but being friends for a while definately helped and even though we have had a good few argument sna d some times when we’ve both said we wanted to just end it, I’m so glad we havent (not sure how Jay feels, hopefuly the same though!) Most of the arguments have been my fault i do admit that, due to me being stroppy and my dislkie of him smoking like a chimney out here, should have said something before! But its all sorted now and like i said we are better than ever, its going to be wierd not being with him 24/7 when we get back, out of nearly 2 months we have spent about 3 days apart, thats a lot of time together! its scary and really making me wonder how the hell we did it?!
Other things im going to miss, seeing millions of bats flying around at night, driving down the road and seeing monkey by the road, and the luxury hotels with people opening doors and carrying bags for us! I’ve turned into even more of a snob since being here but im sure that will be put right when its back to driving on me own and opening my own doors with my arms all full etc etc and doing my own cleaning and cooking again :(
Things i wont miss about Malaysia are easy, the smell of Durians and fish head curry, and people always trying to seel you something!
Anyway thats all for now!
Its all over and I will see you soon!
Becky xxxx
