Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any useful info or past experiences with any theatre/arts volunteering placements outside of the UK? (preferably Africa, India, etc)
I am off traveling in August and would love to do some volunteering but am finding it hard to find reasonably priced projects with a focus on theatre. I have looked through previous posts in this category and they are all from 2005 and just mention ‘tematema’ website which has since ceased to exist! :? If anyone has any info, please give me a shout :)

though it’s not strictly theatre we are hoping to get a musical project up and running (though any ideas to make it theatrical as well would certainly be taken on board!)

check out our facebook page which will give you the gist of what we are aiming to do - essentially create a fluid group of travelling musicians raising money through donations at shows for good causes - the cause being located in their final destination, for the first one Cambodian landmine victims.
It isn’t an official placement but the upside is it’s completely FREE!
If you were feeling brave enough you could head up the theatrical arm! Perhaps mix a few traveller sketches / stories into the music set?!
