Hello Everyone
Ok so im graduating this year and I want to travel and earn money while im travelling. My uni offers a ‘teach china’ programme where i do an online TEFL and said company sorts out visa help, school placements etc but im a tad worried im paying an a lot of money to line someone elses pockets (its approx 1000 plus flights, insurance etc) when i’ve read that some places don’t require a TEFL and/or doing another certificate is worth more and im a tad confused!
bearing in mind that i don’t have a great deal of travel experience, is it better to go through a gap year agency or is it relatively easy to do a TEFL course here and then sort out a visa/ job myself? I don’t mind paying to get a qualification that will get me a job but I don’t want to be paying unnecessary charges
any advice would be really helpful :) x

To be honest you don’t even need the TEFL if you want to go to China. a degree is enough. Use sites like www.anesl.com and www.eslcafe.com and you can find jobs for yourself. If you’ll have a degree when you go, you’re golden.
you’re right, don’t line someone’s pockets if you don’t have to.
Thanks for the tips guys, I will start doing my research :)
