Anyone want to come to SE Asia?! march 2012 for 5 months

I’m planning to take a gap year around SE Asia next March for about 5 months before I start uni. Wanting to do the usual…Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia route etc and I’m thinking of adding Fiji to the list.
At the moment I’m going by myself, but as a girl traveling alone it would be more safe to travel with someone else, so if you are planning something similar feel free to message me!

This sounds really similar to something i wanna do! Definatley in 2012 cos i just cant afford anything yet as ive already booked a holiday for this year so next year I am deffinatley feeling getting away for a few months to Thailand and places around!
Same situation as you in travelling along as lot of my friends are all in uni/not interested in travelling so i really dont want that to be the reason why i shouldnt go but definatley interested in this :) x

I’m planning a trip with my flatmate but leaving next January for Australia first, doing the east coast for 2/3 weeks then will be heading to SEA between beg Feb - april. Let me know if this suits and maybe we can meet up!

Hi myself and a friend are planning to travel for 6 months, starting in Thailand. We are hoping to fly out around last week of October or first week of November and are hoping to travel around Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos for the first 2 months (possibly spending a few weeks cycling across Cambodia) then heading to New Zealand after New Year for couple months, with a trip to Australia in that as well, then we are heading back to Thailand around April time in time for Songkrans festival.
Hey guys….well I used this site to go to asia and meet likeminded people and I met up with soo many off gapyear and did my whole trip,including booking the flight with another girl off here,who is now one of my closest friends!!!
But Im also looking at going back to Asia next year around march time,hopefully meeting a friend who will already be out there…but its always good to see who else is also planning to be out there at same time..Im hoping to fly into malasia…...but im quite openminded about the places I visit..I have been to Vietnam,Thailand,Laos and Cambodia….but by no means seen everything!!!!

Hey, really interested in doing the same around March next year too! Currently planning it solo too, as none of my friends are interested in the idea of travelling or are still at uni. Worried about going it solo, and although I know many people do the same route and I’d meet many people along the way, it would be great to get to know people who would be there too before I go.

I’m currently in Oz on a WHV but have plans to skip over to SEA between my 1st and 2nd WHV’s - a holiday from my holiday as it were! :P My plan is to fly into Bangkok on the 6th Feb and then spend the next 3 months-ish seeing Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Even though I’ve been to Thailand a couple times before I’m a wimp when it comes to going to new places alone! So I’d love to have a meet-up with anyone with a similar plan…

I’m too on planning on traveling to Thailand (and SE Asia) in Feb/March next year. I’m too currently planning solo travelling as my friends to also have work/family/uni commitments.
I haven’t really got route planned out as such - apart from a starting in Thailand then just going with the flow, so I’m pretty flexible on where to go and when etc.
My aim is to travel for a minimum of 6 months and go from there. It would be awesome to meet up with others like your self who have the same kinda plans and ideas.
Im easy going, down to earth guy that just wants to travel and enjoy life whilst meeting new people and having fun! :)
Would be awesome to hear back from you guys if you are interested in planning something?

My friend and I are going to be traveling in Thailand and the surrounding countries for 5 months starting right before New Years.
The general Idea of what we will be doing is pretty much hike, relax, talk, see and just be part of the country.
We would more than welcome anyone to join us for any amount of time, well probably not more than a month unless we really like you. But the idea would be to become our friend for however long we are together and just generally increase the experience of being there.
We both have no problems or worries and we have confidence beyond us with both of us being well over 6 foot :)
We don’t plan to live in any sort of rich way with us probably finding a spot exploring it and then moving on to the next.
If any of that appeals to any one i welcome you to mail me with your thoughts ore just what you plan to do so I see the wonders that others deem interesting :0

There’s 3 of us leaving the UK on March the 5th, flying into Bangkok, we’ll be travelling through Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and then we have an onward flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne on 21st June if anyone is around and want to join us?
