Hey,

Ya iv spent the last two summers in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia! I never once had a problem with border crossings they are so easy, like there isnt a whole lot anybody can do to make them easier, you still have to go up to immigration with your passports, fill out the forms etc yourself!

The stray bus does seem a lot more expensive than normal travel from what I can tell and I had a look at the routes and there is certainly no problem getting to any of those places. I also never met anyone who said they had done it as I think its a relatively new thing?

Personally I wouldnt book it, your plans can change so easily, even though I think I am the queen of plan changing, like when I was in Vang vieng last summer I had my bus booked to 4000 islands then all of a sudden decided to go to Vietnam instead but I guess if you are someone who rigidly sticks to pans it might be fine!

With the teaching Im just basically turning up in Bangkok and looking for a job and just hoping it all works out.

As I said my plans are always changing so who knows we might end up being in the same place at some stage! are you heading to Oz after Asia for a whv?

hey Linda,

How much more expensive do you think the stray bus is?? ( can get it for £350). yeh i think it is a relatively new thing as there isnt alot of reviews out there hence posted on here too see if could get some feedback.

Wow your brave just turning up seeing where the wind blows.Think thats what Im lacking with this going to be my first trip.

I am planning on going to Oz after Asia (hope to get all way to bali) on a WHV. Thats where I think ill be more likely to see where things end up. could stay for 3 months could stay for the year. depends what work I can get and If I decide to get NZ WHV.
