Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on learning to surf and/or becoming a surf instructor on a mini gap overseas?

I’ve been looking into it and have found a few companies such as ticket to ride, nonstopadventure and xtreme gap - does anyone have any experience of these companies? If not can anyone reccomend anywhere to go? Some of them seem rather expensive!

Thanks! :)

Hey Georgie,

Have you looked into doing an academy or surf tour with Mojosurf in Australia? They have 5, 7, or 12 day surf camps that go from Sydney to Byron Bay, Byron Bay to Sydney, or Sydney or Byron return. You spend your time at two different camps that are exclusive to Mojosurf. Not only will you learn how to surf but you will also live the life of a surfer!

If you really want to get good at surfing and become an instructor you could look into the academies. There are 1, 2, or 3 month academies which are great for learning to surf, increasing your fitness and ocean awareness, and you can get an Internationally recognized Level 1 Surf Instructor Qualification! This is the best way that you could spend part of your gap year!

The prices are great for everything that is included which is nice accommodation, great food, cool surf lessons, and luxury coach travel!
Check out www.mojosurf.com and get way more information on there!

YEEEEEWW!!! :)
