Solo Female going to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam end of September 2012

Im about ready to book my round the world trip, Starting in Goa and the South of India for a month then heading to Thailand at the end of September just wondering if anyone else is going to be around then or have any suggestions of things to do whilst im there.

Hi Jennie, I am planning on flying to Bangkok mid-late September, and would like to do the standard Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, maybe Bali and Indonesia, and then Oz and NZ.  I was thinking of doing Thai Intro to begin with, as a way to meet people as I will also be travelling alone. It would be great to meet someone with similar plans though, for a bit of peace of mind in terms of company!

Ohh I think we will be arriving at the same time as think im going to fly in to Bangkok around the 20th was also thinking of doing the into to thailand as im feeling worried about going around alone. but my STA agent has said to book all the full moon accomadation long before you get there as it books up are you wanting to do full moon? it would be great to meet up along the way and do some traveling.

I definitely want to do full moon party, that’s good to know about booking in advance, i will try to get some dates firmed up this evening.  have you booked your flights yet?  i am just trying to work out the best time to arrive in thailand…there is a thai intro starting on 21 september, and i was thinking of arriving a few days before that.  would be really good to see if plans co-ordinated, at least for a bit of the trip, as i am definitely a little bit anxious about doing it alone and i think it would be much more fun to do a bit of travelling with someone!

No i haven’t book flights yet but keen to! Yeah thats the Intro i was thinking of doing or the one that starts on the sunday. Yeah im anxious but if we try and coordinate a bit as you can just book stuff when we are there? There is a full moon party on the 30th of September! What are you plans for Bali? I wanna do a surf camp as they look like a lot of fun! How long are you planning in Thailand, Cambodia etc?

i am clearlu very bored at work, hence the quick reply! the only reason i thought of doing the one starting on 21st rather than 23rd is because there is a dinner and night out organised with the group on the last night I think, and if started thai intro on 23rd you would miss the last night with the group (although obvs would have full moon).  And i quite like the idea of having 2 separate excuses to party!

i was thinking of spending about 2 months in SE Asia, so until approx the end of November, and then maybe a few weeks in Bali.  surf school actually sounds amazing, i might have a look into that.  and then would quite like to be in sydney for xmas and new years.

would be very keen to maybe have a chat about co-ordinating arrivals/thai intro, as would def ease my nerves a bit to know there is at least one other person who will be in the same position as me!

No defo keen to go on the 21st one then and then head to full moon at the end of the month. You sound like we are doing pretty much the same time frame for things!

well im thinking of leaving mid to end of september so arriving in bangkok around the 22nd-23rd sept! Ive done southeast asia before when i did a rtw trip in 2010 but didnt stay long and really want to do it all again! im keen on thailand, vietnam, cambodia, laos, malaysia and bali including the gili islands which are amazing! I really wanna do some diving in thailand too so might stick around the southern islands for some time. How long are u planning on staying in SE asia? u have any plans?

Your plans sounds pretty similar to what I am thinking of doing too….thinking of flying to Bankok for Thai Intro on 21 sept, although if i can find some travel buddies would much prefer to do it independently.  and then as much of SE Asia as I can afford!

I’ve had a look at your plans and there all seem really similar to my thoughts and planning. I did Thailand last year for a month but so keen to see more of SE Asia as well as revisiting Thailand! So, I’m up for wherever to be honest.

Hey guys I’ve got a flight booked for the 28th of September and planning on doing a route through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia then down to see the Thai Islands and do some diving..

Reckon it will take me about two months, so I’m keen for some company!

Haven’t got anything booked yet just vague plans but pretty flexible at the moment, hoping to find someone/group to travel with! How long are you planning to spend there?
