India and SE Asia June - September 2012 - travel mates?

Hi All,

I’m really looking to go to India specifically, but maybe SE asia as well, for about a month, month and a half at some point between mid june and late september.

I’m 18, female and do not want to go alone! None of my friends can commit because they need to get the money first, so I figured if I sort out some plans etc, others might tag along :)

I’ve been seriously considering going backpacking round europe around the same time…. but I would also love to see India and SE Asia so I may be flexible with which part of the world I adventure in. Obviously cost is a major factor that determines whether or not this is possible for me. Do you have any idea of a budget yet?

I don’t really have an idea of budget yet, but just had a VERY quick look at travel websites etc It depends on the level of luxury etc

Staying at hostels etc, decent meals and going to the touristy places, at a very very rough guess, I would say £1500 for a month in India? But I genuinely don’t know, some advice from people who have gone there before would be useful!

If you are interested, add me on fb and I can add you to the group. Once we get an idea of where in india/SE asia people want to travel, we can get an idea of cost and see if it’s feasible.

For me, I am pretty open to cost because I’ve worked this year but mainly for experience so the salary was a bonus. And its pretty much the only chunk of time I will have a for a while where I have money, time and no obligations! So I want to make the most of it really

Alright sounds like a possibility for me - i shall add you :) I’m not really looking to live in the lap of luxury - I’m up for roughing it and am not really expecting hotels or anything fancy
