Hi guys.
I find myself fairly confused as to what qualifications I need to ensure I can work abroad. God knows I’ve trawled the website and read some great advice. But at the end of the day I find myself still asking CELTA is ti really worth it? It’s more expensive and takes 4 weeks neither are huge problems it would just mean I’d have to save for longer.
Also I notice people say if you have a degree you are fine. Now does this degree specifically have to be in English or teaching as I have a BA in Politics would this be acceptable?

I’ve taught in Thailand Korea and China with just a Media degree….. it’s a requirement in some places but not all. It depends where you want to go.

From what I’ve heard it would seem that Celta is required more in South America than anywhere else.

Hi!

I completed a TEFL Course and the people I did it with also helped me find work and it was only a 2 day course and £200.

The are called UK-TEFL and have recently had a tone of summer placements that they have been advertising.

I didnt have any teaching experience so thought a two day course and assitance finding work really appealed to me :)

Thanks for the replies. May plump for the celta then as south america will definately be a target at some point.
Also slightly dumb question. Obviously Asia and certain parts of S.America will be roasting, how formally do you have to dress? It is still a school after all.
