So, I think I’m going to go for it. India in July. I know its going to rain a bit, I know the heat can be stifiling. But, its cheap (and so won’t eat into my RTW savings like other ideas would have done - return flights from around £500, and hostels for £3 a night. The whole thing could cost less than a grand), and India doesn’t actually appear on my RTW itinerary (planned for next year).

My leave from work is booked for 29 June to 27 July. Basically, if I’m ever going to do India, this is the only time I can do it. So, rain or not, I’m going to give it a shot! If I end up having to spend days on end sheltered in an eaterie reading my book, then so be it. I’m chucking my dice and taking my chances.

All I need now is an itinerary. Once I know where to start and finish I can book my flights. Broadly, I’ll fill in the bits in between as I go along.

What I need from you wise people is, very simply, suggestions of places to start and finish, with a few bits in between, that’ll take me around 4 weeks.

:)

I’m going to India on May 25th for four months, it’s going to be hot and wet but it’s going to be great.

Anywho, back to topic, my cousin went for six weeks last year, and she’s emailed me her itinerary and things to not miss etc if you want that? It’s quite long so it’s probably better to PM or email it.

Enjoy your trip :-)

Please do Grete, - pm it to me if you could.

Thanks so much! I want to get this booked, but obviously checking guide books is a must!

I’ll let you know my plans, in case our paths cross :)
