Hi guys - Im heading out to Bali with my brother for a week after the Singapore Grand Prix in September.

Ive been to SE Asia backpacking a couple of times before, but never to Indonesia or for such a short time. My brother is not really keen on slumming it and we are not on any sort of budget either.

We are really just looking to head somewhere with decent accomodation near the beach, with good nightlife. Just wanting to have a bit of a party week, maybe try surfing and hiring a car or bikes for a couple of days.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on where to go??

Sounds like Kuta will have everything you’re looking for, or if you wanted something a little bit more upmarket - Seminyak, Legion or Sanur for something even quieter? But Kuta is definitely an Australian’s Magaluf so it would be worth your time hiring the bikes or the car to get out and explore the rest of Bali, most places are less than half a days drive away.

Yeah, I agree with Kirstied, Kuta would be a good place to base yourself. From there you can go south to Uluwatu, a mecca for surfers and an amazing spot, and north to Ubud, the yoga capital of Bali, but don’t let that put you off though! Ubud is one of the nicest places on the island!
