Anyone heading to NZ Oct/Nov 12 time??? Auckalnd or Christchurch 1st???!!!

Hey all.

Blimey, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here!!! I’m looking into going travelling again and this time plan on starting in NZ around Oct/Nov time. I currently don’t have anything booked, as I’m waiting for my WHV to be approved. Once I have a better idea though, I’ll be able to make some more solid plans.

I’m currently considering whether to head over to Auckland or Christchurch first? Any suggestions which way round is the best way to do (if there is one way better than the other???)

Anyone going to be heading over that way around the same time or will already be there by then and fancies meeting up?? Like I say, plans very vague at mo, but if you fancy meeting etc I may be swayed to one place more than another!!! Just let me know.

There’s still not much going on in Christchurch (earthquake) and you most definately won’t get a job there.. Just some points to keep in mind.. but it’s definately worth a visit!

Most international flights that fly into christchurch stop over in Auckland anyway - so may be cheaper to land in Auckland and just hit up CHCH when you travel via land :D

I too will be travelling NZ that time! I land in Auckland on 2nd October and plan to head to Oz start of December. In that time i’ll be starting in Auckland and travelling both islands on Magic Bus.

Let me know if this is still your plan - would love to meet up with someone of a similar age to me (28!) and not hang out with the younger crowd who just want to get p*ssed every night and waste away the day…..! lol

I’m now flying into Auckland on Nov 1st with another girl I met on here. We’re hanging around til mid Nov to wait for our other friend too. Once she arrives we’re unsure of our plans as we’re wanting to be around Auckland for Christmas/New Year.

If you’ve got some spare time in between your magic bus trip just let us know. We’ll be around somewhere I’m sure :-) x
