Australian Working Visa

Hi guys,

I turn 31 in September and really want to work in Australia before its to late to go (I know I have left it late :-) ).

I intend to go round the world next year after I have finish my uni course about May/June time.

Does anyone have a rough estimate about how long it takes to process the application?

I read on immigration that I need to use the visa within 1 year of getting it so would you advise starting the process now or waiting until July/Aug.

So confused on what to do :-S.

Any help would be much appreciated :-D

The WHV for Australia gets processed very quickly. I think they say something like a week but you hear of people getting confirmation emails within hours of applying.

I’m not sure what you mean by your second question, but it’s important to note that you have to enter Australia within 12 months of being granted your visa. Once you enter, your 12 months of being allowed to stay and work begin. This should avoid the need for any rushing. There’s no need to apply for it right now, wait until towards the end of the year before you think about applying for it.

Yeah. I’m applying for mine in the next month or so, will be arriving around March ‘13.

Ok so just another quick one. If you get your visa when you are 30 can you still use it when you turn 31 or is it invalid.
