is it difficult getting around budapest? ive read that taxis are expensive, and i cant find much info about how to get from the4 airport to the city. is it far?
fair way - i got a bus to the nearest train station and then took subway.about hour- hour and a half.
I was confused by your post Jordan as I recalled getting the train direct but the link below explains why.
Try googling ‘budapest airport to city centre’ it’s really not difficult. But to save you the effort…

Bullets007 - if you want to know more about Budapest you should read this article - http://www.gapyear.com/articles/151181/marcus-sherifis-guide-to-budapest/1468
It even has a nice lil video (that I think everyone should watch). Enjoy!
Budapest is expensive compared to the rest of Hungary (in the same way that London is considerably dearer than anywhere else in the UK), but I still don’t consider it an expensive place compared to home.
Great time to go if you’re heading off now, though. Get yourself to Bed Beach club out on the island; phenomenal place.
wow, just seen the pics looks brilliant. is it expensive in bed beach?

Last time I was there was last summer, and I didn’t think it was too bad; cheaper than London clubs anyway.
With the Forint at 360/£ now rather than 300/£ last year, should be even more reasonable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a world-famous club, so you won’t be seeing £1 beers, but it’s not bank breaking.
Dress smart, too. They’re not afraid to turn tourists away if they think you “don’t fit the image” of the place.
I went to Budapest in Feb with my mum, it was incredibly easy to get around! You can get a pack of tickets for 3/5 days, it’s inexpensive and the only time anyone checks your ticket is the train, the tram they don’t bother :) x
Don’t get caught without a ticket on the tram.
I’ve seen tourists who don’t speak Hungarian get shafted by bored police looking for easy money.
They don’t check often, but I’ve seen it happen.
I rarely have a ticket, but I speak enough Hungarian to make any policeman realise I’m not the easiest of targets and look elsewhere.
Hungary is progressing as a country, but bribery is still rife. Not worth the risk for a few pence.
