haha Gary ! I’m sure you’re not talentless! Warrick its always been my dream to perform, not to teach… but then again, as much as i would love the dance at Urdang i think the singing and acting would be annoying for me as i like commercial stuff (pock, rock etc) not musical theatre! You’re right its so difficult… I would love to be a commercial dancer or be successful with my singing but now its come to the time when i’m meant to be settling down at Urdang ... i’m wondering do i need Urdang to get me there? Also… travelling is something i HAVE to do before i die and i want to do it when i’m young.. my mum traveled when she was young and had the time of her life… her advice is live life now and worry about later later…

I think you are wanting somebody to say “go for it”

It seems the more practical option, especially if it gets you a good diploma towards a career. You said yourself it’s a top academy. Will that place be there in a years time if you did go travelling?

What are your other options for after you’ve been travelling?

May be more sensible… but not as exciting…
i can do my dance teacher training when i get back and i can get an agent to try and jobs as a performer x

If you wanna go travelling you should just go for it. Urdang would be an amazing place to train but it doesn’t sound like its the place for you. I’m a dancer too. I work freelance - performing, choreographing and teaching - and I do class everyday too, and I’m absolutely petrified about taking a year or two away from it to go away! It’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages now though, and I feel if I don’t go now I never will. I don’t want to look back and regret not doing it when I had the chance.

Good luck with your decision!

what do you actually want to do in terms of travelling??

it is a hard decision to make, but your still young so you have alot of time to do education after travelling i suppose. maybe after travelling you might noit even want to be a performer, you will have alot of time to think about life. ha.

very true! i have a lot of other interests besides performing, including photography.

There’s a lot i want to do travel wise… i want to see as many countries as i possibly can… and just explore, live and work- immersing myself in new cultures and seeing amazing sights! Thailand, Peru and Bolivia are particularly intriguing and i like the idea of volunteering with orangutans in malaysia and turtles in Costa rica!
