I got it from RTWexperts I had a few cheaper quotes but just wasnt really sure about the companies and working in the travel industry I just wanted to be 100% sure! Very flexible free date changes with their travel butler service etc.

I have no idea about your last question ive never heard of having to wait 6 months prior :S? My first flight is definitely booked and the consultant I spoke to will book all the other flights as they come into range if that makes sense? However the flights are booked and paid for now I just have to sit back and let them do the work - Or so I’d like to think anyway! haha

How much did it cost?

I’m trying to weigh up whether I should get a RTW and have my route set in stone or just book flights as I go as there’s a lot of countries I want to visit if I have spare time/money but aren’t priorities!

Oh really? December is ages away! Sucky! :( I was happier with my RTW ticket because it’s got unlimited changes on the routing because im under 26.

Oh and Robert is was £1294.00 :) there were a few cheaper quotes (£100.00 less) but I wanted to with a company I trust. I’ve worked in the industry far too long to be taking chances haha especially because the company I worked for last year went into administration and everyone lost there holidays etc! Fuck internet companies!

Same, mine are still progressing very slowly! Just had to buy car tax, insurance, mot and fix up the car….. All within the space of about 2 weeks…argh!

Congrats on getting your tickets though :D.

Hi

I’m looking at same trip just other way round starting jan 13.

London>Bangkok>Hong Kong>Sydney>New Zealand>fiji> LA > London

Got quote from RTW for £2,200, but spoke to Sta and they said £1,800 they have now come back saying £2,300. These prices all seem way overpriced, any advise on how to get lower quotes or companies you tried?

Thanks!

Thats an extremely peak season for travel to OZ and asia in January so in terms of pricing I’m not sure if that might actually be the price? I would assume the cost is quite high because FIJI is there I would try ask for the same quote and see what it is without FIJI as if you can do internal flights with low cost carriers it may work out cheaper that way. I went with RTW experts in the end, i didnt like STA’s customer service.

I’m doing the exact same route at a similar time and got a quote for £1850 from RTW experts. I was going to go January 9th but the travel advisor I’ve been speaking to said the flight prices go down quite a bit if I left on January 16th so that may be why your quote is slightly more expensive.

Have you managed to get anymore quotes for that route? I’m going to STA next weekend and waiting to hear back from a few more.

Hi,

I ended up booking it with trailfinder because could do it in euro, works out cheaper for me as get paid in euros, final cost was £2000. Prob could of got it cheaper going later but actually am short on time have to be back end of August, and difference it was don’t want to miss extra week. It’s great feeling to have it all booked just need to get visa sorted now.

I tried Round world experts found them good, but Sta promised everthing so said would go with them then they keep saying system was down each time I rang they were so unhelpful and kept changing the price, in end I just went to trailfinders and booked straight away.

Hope you get better quote than me but at least i’m all set now, excited!!!!
