Hello,

I have been wanting to go travelling for a couple of years now and want some advice.  I want to visit

- India
- SE Asia
- Aussie (Have family out there and will look at seeking work if funds are low)
- NZ

I am currently in full-time employment and a home owner. What I am probably going to look at doing is renting my house out while I go travelling. I am looking at going for around 1 year.

Has there been anyone on here in a similiar situation to myself and done this? It has taken me a while to get moving with this dream of mine but have been unsure about the best way to tie up my committments with my house before I book anything.

Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

A mate of mine rented out his place to some tenants and travelled for two years. He’s just gone back to live in his house. Do you have a trusted friend or family member to deal with any small issues with the property while you’re away?

if so, it can be done!

Go!

Hey, I’m in a similar situation with owning my house and looking to go RTW for a yearish…
I’m probably gonna look to rent it to a rental company with a guaranteed monthly income to cover the mortgage. So hopefully having nothing to worry about whilst I’m away.
It’s certainly an extra stress when planning!

when you rent the property out you can ask the tenants what perioid they wish to rent it for and put it into the contract it is for a year if they accept, also you will need insurance as a landlord and the majority of them have the option to cover loss of rent if the tennants plays up not paying.
