I’m off to my travels on the 18th of september and feel i’ve got so much to do…. I’ve got my flights, backpack, hiking boots, and most things sorted out, but i’m stuck with a few things..:

- Insurance. Have been looking the posts here and think Insure and go will be good…

- Money…i’ve got half of the money in the UK, and the other half in Spain where I come from…And don’t know whats best, if to put all together, leave 2 accounts open, and dont know what banks will be cheaper for payments and withdraws arround the world… Any help with that?

- Sim card. Has anyone used the Go-sim from gapyear?

Help please!! thanks!

Hola, wow, now I feel super organised booking all this 4 months in advance:

Insurance

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-travel-insurance

After shopping around, combing forums, and reading fine-print until my eyes bled I opted for the Holidaysafe Longstay policy at £233 for 15 months.

Travel Money

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-money

I’m opting for the:

Credit - Aqua Mastercard
Debit - Metrobank
Prepaid - CaxtonFX, FairFX, Moneycorp Enhanced Explorer

Provisional plan is I’ll withdraw cash on the Debit card, which I’ll feed from my current Santander savings account; charge on the Aqua and keep the others as fail-overs topped up with little bits of cash (£100-£200).

Ben
