ok so not literally but with 3 weeks to go till me and my boyfriend leave for bangkok i;m getting really nervous.
we have been saving for a year and we have been really excited but not sure what has come over me…...we have got pretty much everything sorted just 1 week of work left 2 leaving parties and a week staying with my parents and we are gone.
we are planning on going around thailand for 2 months, visiting friends in vietnam, going to cambodia laos and hong kong. no fixed time limit or solid plans but we decided it was best to do this as dont want to be moving all the time and missing things we find on the way
we have been desperate to travel forever, hate our jobs and i know we are doing the right thing but can anyone give me a bit of a pep talk to get me back on the right track????
just knowing other people have felt the same nervousness and eeeekkk will i be ok and like it feelings would be a great help
What exactly are you nervous about?
Just chill. Millions of people do this every day.
Don’t worry I had the same feelings. I have just come back from nearly a year away and it was the best year of my life! You will love it! Just let it happen! :-)
Put it this way once you return back home you will be itching to travel again. No need to panic you will love it.
Like everyone else has said, you will love it! But don’t worry some last minute nerves are quite normal. Read this article about culture shock incase you think your nerves will get the better of you, but since you’re travelling with your boyfriend I’m sure you’ll both be fine because you’ll have each other for support!

Dont fret about it, It’s normal, you are about to change the way you’re living your life, it’s a pretty big step!
I hate the last few weeks before I go somewhere though as soon as I’m at the airport I’m alright.
thanks guys! really big help i am now fully on track and excited again!
cant wait to get there now!!!
Grab some nappys and strap yourself in!!
In a few weeks after several things going wrong you’ll no longer be stressing about them but laughing.. and realising how much better things “going wrong” actually makes your trip.
By not having made plans you guys have left yourself open to let the magic happen!! And it will…. every single damn day!!!!!!
Honestly, it doesnt take long for the fear to turn into excitement…
I’m well jealous xx
I travelled for 15 months and the hardest part was just getting on the plane. Don’t overthink it, just enjoy it.
