ARE THEIR ANY FREAKING HOTELS IN BALI OR THE GILI ISLANDS THAT ARE FOR ONE PERSON! EVERY FREAKING HOTEL IS FOR 2 PEOPLE.
I am going there on my own and I doubt I will be meeting any one. Will I have to just pay double the price? Or are there some hotels that are not based on 2 people sharing? :mad: x
I’ve not been to Indonesia but most places in Asia are open to negotiation. There are very few single rooms but with a little haggling you can normally get a good price for a modest double. Have a look in the ‘SE Asia on a Shoestring’ or Indonesia Lonely Planet for an idea of prices (although you’ll often get a better price at other budget hotels not featured in the guidebooks).
Don’t think I stayed anywhere that charged per person or for a single room. I just had to pay for the room, or buddy up!

No i doubt they exist, only came across one in my whole time in South east Asia. No point booking accom till you arrive anyway and you will more than likely just buddy up with another solo traveller

Agreed! Just buddy up and you’ll be fine. If you really want to keep the cost down fit three people in a double bed!
There’s a place on Gili Meno called The Sunset Gecko that has single rooms for about 77,000 INR but you can’t book them, you just have to turn up and hope!
As for Java, Bali and Trawangan I didn’t come across any single rooms, all were doubles, twins or the occasional dorm. Best of luck.
