I am going traveling for 7 months (though coming home for 2 weeks in the middle) and then literally (as the plan stands) starting university two weeks after I get back.
Is this a bad idea? What did you guys do? Did you need time to get ready?
Also… generally about coming home after doing so much, seeing so much - what is it like?

Assuming you mean an undergraduate course then you could miss the first 6 months and still be fine.
Don’t stress.

Shite.
Though uni will be fun, so no worries.
Considering you’ll be coming back and diving straight into something else, you’ll be fine.
When you come back to unemployment and have weeks of sitting doing nothing, then it sucks balls.

Shiiiit yes. (add in coming home with your leg in plaster and then having to sit on your ass for a few weeks… to make it worse).
Home is crap.. but starting uni will be new excitement and then you’ll start dreaming of your next trip haha!
2 weeks in fine.
Coming home is great for the first couple of days when you’re catching up with people. Then it sucks big time and you’ll be itching to do something.
At least you will have something to look forward to with uni.
Your friends either from home or uni won’t give a shit/ not understand the fascination with travelling and your stories and will end up mocking you for going on about it in my personal experience. Thankfully I still have a couple of really good friends I can ramble on about it to.

I know just what you mean. Travelling was the best thing I’ve ever done but every time I mention it everyone seems to just switch off and not want to know.
I don’t really care though, they’re all throwing money away and working jobs they hate while I’m planning the next trip!
