18F looking for people to do s.e.a. Loop beginning of feb to may

Hi everyone!! This is actually my first time on this particular forum, but I thought I may give it a try, and see of I get any replies. My names alexis I’m 18F born and raised in toronto Ontario, and I’m looking for travel companions to do the s.e.a. Loop starting at the beginning of February till about mid May or so. I do t have a set itemary yet, but I do know I want to fly to bkk and start for Khao San road, and start from northern thailand, cross over to Laos, then Cambodia Vietnam Hanoi and end in Singapore I think ( although this could all very well change)... I love an adventure, and exploring, but I am a little nervous about going solo, and would love to at least start my travels with some other people! I know I’m going to spend the most time in Thailand and laos - vang vieng ( tubing of course), go down the boat on the mekong river! etc…. And just play it by year. I have my lonely planet guide book of couse to help me out along the way!! If any ones interested in traveling around those times, feel free to hit me up or we d me a message on Facebook :)

You are doing the exact same route as I’m planning to and at the same time, only I plan to spend June in Malaysian Borneo and Bali. I’m a 23 y/o British male looking for people to travel around with, cuz I haven’t done this sort f thing alone before! I’ve done a lot of research and my sister did pretty much the same route last year so gave me loads if advice; I can pass on the knowledge if you need it :)

I am also planning to fly into Bangkok around Feb 2013 then go on to travel the rest of S.E.Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam…).

I wanted to start near Khao San road and travel down towards Koh Phangan to do a full moon party in Feb/March. Naturally I’m a bit nervous about going alone and am hoping to meet up with people in Bangkok to travel with. I was also speaking to a good friend of mine the other day who just got back from S.E.Asia and he told me about a group backpacker tour that he did in Thailand which does exactly what I want to do (starts in BKK nr khao San and ends in Koh Phangan a few days before the full moon). He said it was an awesome trip and he met loads of people to travel on with after (trutravels.com is the site). It’s only 7 days long so after that I’ll be doing everything independently (or hopefully with new travel buddies)...

After the full moon I wanted to see a few of the other islands and then head up north and on to Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam…

Let me know if you like the idea of the tour or if you want to meet up out there at some point.

No way! I was thinking of doing trutravels…. my brother picked up a flyer from his uni and gave it to me as he knew i was going to thailand. It looks pretty good and cheap. What dates are you thinking?

Hi Jim, I’m trying to decide between 15th Jan and 15th of Feb groups at the moment… They both end a few days before a full moon which is good and I would rather get out there asap but not sure if I could do with another month to save a bit more cash…
