Spain in Winter…??

Hi guys,

I’m meeting a friend in Spain (Malaga), who used to live there, mid January for a few weeks but have been considering going over early (solo) to do a bit of backpacking from the start of Jan. Has anyone been there during this time? Is it worth extending the trip?

Any tips/advice is appreciated.

Matt.

I’ve been to Alicante and Murcia at all times of year because I have family living there.

Spain can get cold at that time of year and I end up living in my jogging bottoms and fleece jumper… I’m not sure if that’s just mainly in the country side though.

The cities are never busy at that time, it’s usually just locals around or pensioners that own holiday homes over there. I’m not sure how any public transport changes but I’m guessing car hire could be a lot cheaper.
