best backpacking camra

I really want to buy a good camra that will be good for travels but there is so much choice and i am not sure which will be the best one. In terms of price I dont want anyhing that is too expensive but i also want good quality pictures.
Any suggestions would be helpful as i really dont know much about camras.

I’d suggest a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. I took one travelling and came back with good photos, without having to lug around a big expensive camera.
One tip is to buy the model below the newest one, as it will be considerable cheaper, and usually almost as good - mine even came with the same user manual as the next model up, so it can’t have been very different!

i also baught a panasonic lumix lx5 great quality photo’s and there is a new model out now so should be able to pick it up for a good price

Thanks I think I will buy the panasomic lumix. It sound reliable and will hopefully give me some great pictures
