The full moon party itself is out of this world, a small stretch of beach with at least one hundred bars opening onto the beachfront, massive stereo sytems, fire throwers, rank toilets, drinks and drugs galore plus 5000 ravers.
Most of my night is spent wandering up and down the shore taking it all in, we buy a few buckets (yes sand castle buckets) which contain one bottle of whisky, one of red bull and a can of coke for two pounds fifty!
My tips for the full moon party would be watch your belongings and don’t get so drunk that you are an easy target. I lost count of how many people I saw in this situation. When you get to the beach the best and busiest bars are to your right (when facing the sea) but drinks buckets are cheaper to your left approx 150baht compared to 250baht, the toilets are also much, much nicer this end of the beach too!
