The Imaginative Traveller runs short-term community and building projects around the World. The projects are combined with an exciting adventure tour, so you really get to know a country. If you're looking for a two- or three-week holiday with a difference, and would like to make a positive impact on the developing world, this is for you.

As a volunteer you live and work within a community, becoming part of it, and you develop a unique insight into another society as a result. Accommodation will be basic, the work can be challenging, but the rewards are immense.

Sample community projects...
- Take part in the day-to-day activities of a Maasai village in Tanzania, allowing you to experience and help preserve the Maasai culture first-hand. You will also enjoy a fantastic safari with the chance to see a huge array of game including migratory herds of wildebeest, lions and cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo and rhinos.

- Work alongside local families in the beautiful Sacred Valley area of Peru, to help build compost toilets. Work will involve mixing and laying cement, building the bathroom from wood and straw plus adding a roof and windows. Go on to explore Peru and hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

- Build homes with Mongolian villagers in one of the last great wildernesses of the World. No building experience is required as an on-site build team will direct you in your duties, which could include digging foundations, plastering, painting or other tasks. Add a fantastic jeep and camping trip taking in the Ongi River, the Great White Lake and the ancient capital Kharkhorin and you will undoubtedly have the time of your life.
