Join marine biologists working closely with sharks, going cage diving with them and conducting valuable research into their behaviour. Contribute to essential research and reverse the decline in these fascinating animals. On this placement you will actively contribute to the conservation efforts of the largest underwater predator, helping to save the species from possible extinction. You will be based just east of Cape Town along a beautiful stretch of South Africa's rich coastline. As a volunteer you will be an active member of the scientific research team, helping to monitor and observe the sharks in their natural habitat both above and below water. By learning their behaviour we are building up an understanding of the species which is essential if we are to tackle their decline.
