Enjoy a gap year with a difference deep in the heart of Africa. The Gap Wrap Africa: Overland & Volunteer will have you on an overland expedition through Africa. You will also take part in a volunteering project with lions in Johannesburg!
Your Overland Experience
Fly from London Heathrow to Nairobi, Kenya, where your adventure will begin. A tour representative will collect you from the airport and take you straight to your campsite. From there you will journey through the Serengeti, Dar es Salaam, Lake Malawi, Livingstone, Victoria Falls, the Blyde River Canyon as well as other iconic African destinations. Your tour will conclude in Johannesburg, where you can party at your leisure or commence your new lion volunteering placement.
Hear the Lions Reow!
Your responsibilities for the 15-23 day placement include preparing food for lion cubs as well as general up keep of the animals’ living areas and game drive. You will also have one on one interactions with the lions and learn about white lion conservation.
Spot the Big 5
As a reward for all your hard work you’ll join a Pilanesburg National Centre Safari where you will have the opportunity to spot the Big 5 in the wild! If that wasn’t enough for you, you can return to the park after your safari experience and continue your work there for another week.
