Hostels and accommodation

Accomodation in Papeete is pretty expensive, as it is mainly aimed at the honeymoon/luxury holiday market. There are a few budget hostels in the outskirts, but none are particularly good quality. People on a strict budget (that'll be everyone then!) should head out either to the southern part of Tahiti, or take a ferry to another island, where accomodation is cheaper. Camping is possible out of town, and will usually set you back about GB£3.
