Online TEFL courses with i-to-i

Online TEFL is an innovative and convenient way to learn to teach English abroad.

As a native English speaker you’re already in the best position to pass on your valuable language skills. What we can give you are the tools and the confidence to take your talents abroad.

Our Online TEFL course was the first ever TEFL course to go completely online - that means no annoying downloads! It’s backed by the experience of the i-to-i TEFL experts (we have over ten years in our field don’t you know?) and what’s more, you can take the course whenever you want, wherever you want.

You’ll also be assigned your very own personal tutor to guide you through each of the modules and answer your every question. Pace is up to you, so you can speed through the course in two weeks or glide through in a leisurely six months.

Online Certificate (40 hours)
40-hour Online TEFL course
Launched in January 2000, the Online TEFL course was the first of its kind and still remains the only truly online TEFL course. Since 1994, i-to-i has trained over 20,000 people to Teach English as a Foreign Language and enabled them to live and work abroad.

Online Diploma (60 hours)
40-hour Online TEFL course + Grammar Awareness Module
The Online TEFL Diploma combines the Online TEFL Course and the Grammar Awareness Module (GAM), which has been designed to give you confidence in English grammar. This easy-to-use module takes you through the rules and terminology of English grammar step by step. You work through the GAM in your own time in your own home, then return the answers to i-to-i for correction.

Course Content
Module 1 (2-3 hrs approx) : Student motivation, teacher roles and EFL methodology
Module 2 (6-8 hrs approx) : Grammar awareness
Module 3 (3-4 hrs approx) : Classroom management and student levels
Module 4 (6-8 hrs approx) : How to teach grammar
Module 5 (4-5 hrs approx) : How to teach vocabulary
Module 6 (3-4 hrs approx) : Observe and analyse a teacher in action (on DVD ROM)
Module 7 (1-2 hrs approx) : How to teach speaking and writing skills
Module 8 (4-5 hrs approx) : How to teach and lesson planning
Module 10 (1hr approx) : Information and resources
