If you’re aged 18-30 and from a country outside the European Union then you can apply for a youth mobility visa (YMV), which allows you to live and work in the UK for up to two years. Your YMV allows you to work in any job, from working in a bar in Edinburgh to teaching in a small school in Somerset. You’re only limited by your ambition and imagination.
If you’re from a country within the EU, then you can work in the UK without a YMV.
Australia isn’t the only place you can pick fruit. There are almost 250,000 farm businesses in the UK and many are looking for farm hands. But don’t think it’s all outdoor work. If you want a job in the city, you can do that too.
