Always carry anti bacterial hand wash - one small bottle, so many times to use it! You can never take too many photos. Try to learn at least "hello" and "thank you" in the local language - it is really appreciated.

Well, I think it's fair to say that travel takes up a large part of my life to the extent where, when my boss asked me during my mid year review what my motivation for my job was, I told him it was to earn enough money to travel. That stumped him! I've been travelling off and on since 2004 when I took off on my own for the first time, left Europe for the first time and embarked on a 7 month RTW trip. In 2007, I went off again for 9 months. Since then, I more or less been relegated to 3 week holidays, but in that time have managed to hike to Everest Base Camp, climb to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and see the Northern Lights. So not all that bad really. Aside from the travel, I have a boring job doing stats for an insurance company up in the City and my Saturdays are largely spent supporting the greatest football team in the world (well at least in South London) - Crystal Palace!! EAGLES!

Hmm, the paper machier bar in Chiang Mai, which suddenly had an expats open mic poetry session or the pool competition with the locals in Namche Bazaar, after one had seen us playing and decided to round up the whole village telling us "I've brought you all the eligible batchelors"!

It's all about the stamps

My many short trips
