About RVO The Robbooker Voluntary Organization (R.V.O-Ghana) was founded by Mr. Robert Booker an American Philanthropist and Richmond Amoakoh Ghanaian social worker in the year 2000. R.V.O-Ghana is registered in Kumasi, Ghana as a non for profit organization in the year 2000 with the following agencies in Ghana. Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), social Welfare of Ghana, Registrar Generals Dept. and National Youth council of Ghana. R.V.O-Ghana is one of the fasters growing volunteer organization in Ghana. We are dedicated to providing meaningful and affordable volunteer projects across the length and breath of Ghana. The idea was to enable people to use their leisure hours for the benefit of mankind through rural and urban community volunteering. R.V.O’s main activities were centered mainly on health, volunteering,community development and education. This service took the form of participation in workcamps and individual volunteering for the realization more community development programs. People started crossing boundaries to join in the work of bringing new life, hope and ideas to remote places in rural and urban communities of Ghana. Below are few of the programs offered by the R.V.O –Ghana: 1. Orphanage Work in Ghana 2. Healthcare and Health Education in Ghana 3. Teaching in Ghana 4. HIV aids education /presentation in Ghana 5. Community Development Project 6. Language and cultural studies Between 2 and 4 People participate in R.V.O-Ghana volunteer programs every month and that is a good omen of how unique our programmes are and how reliable we are to volunteers. R.V.O MISSION: R.V.O organizes unique and affordable volunteer programs programs in Ghana. Our dedication to service project focuses on rural community development, volunteering, educational programmes, Language and cultural studies, Internships etc. we offer students / participants unique programmes for their memorable experiences. Below are highlights of few programmes offered by the R.V.O –Ghana: R.V.O-Ghana offer volunteers the opportunity to live and work with vulnerable / orphan children in Ghana. R.V.O-Ghana also offer volunteers the opportunity to work with hundreds of local organizations actively involved with HIV AIDS education. Other programmes offered by the R.V.O are: Teaching in Ghana, Health project for medical personal, medical and pre-medical students, Soccer coaching in Ghana, Language and cultural immersion, Drumming and dancing lessons, volunteer and work camps in rural communities. R.V.O –Ghana also designs an internship placement for students on the fields below: 1. Radio, TV and news paper Journalism 2. Nurses and Doctors 3. Women and Youth empowerment 4. Politics in Ghana 5. Law 6. HIV AIDS education 7. Drumming and Dancing (African studies) 8. Architectural 9. Soccer coaching 10. Language and Cultural Studies 11. Forest Conservation 12. Research 13. ETC
