Starting off in Nairobi, you’ll head to the world-famous Masai Mara for your first dose of game viewing. Then it’s off to Lake Bunyoni, the deepest crater lake in Africa and the base for our gorilla trek into the Ugandan mountains. Heading back to Nairobi, we then head to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a region that boasts some of Africa’s best game viewing. Heading down to Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam, we have a chance to relax on the beach and soak up some sun, or explore Stone Town and learn about this historically fascinating trading port.
We then travel overland to Lake Malawi where we’ll be able to take part in a range of water-sports – canoeing, swimming, snorkelling or SCUBA diving, or simply relaxing of meeting the locals. From here we journey south to Victoria Falls, AKA ‘The Smoke That Thunders’ where we can take part in a whole range of activities to get the adrenaline pumping. Onward to Botswana, we explore the Chobe National Park - famous for its large elephant herds - and the Okavango Delta. The Okavango is the largest inland delta in the world and home to a huge variety of birds, plants and animals.
Crossing into Namibia, we visit Etosha National Park before winding our way southward to Cape Town via Swakopmund, the dunes of Sossusvlei, the Orange River, the Cedarburg and finally South Africa’s famous Mother City. These are just a few highlights of a trip that will take in the very best that East and Southern Africa have to offer – the overland journey of a lifetime!
We include transfers from Nairobi, park entrance fees, road taxes and tolls, a fully-equipped expedition truck and the services of an experienced three-man crew in our journey across Africa. You’ll also have most meals provided for and be supplied with some of the necessary camping equipment.
