Spend the best five days of your life learning to be a certified scuba diver. This is the 'Open Water' dive course, recognised by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and one of our most popular options. You'll get the chance to hit the Great Barrier Reef for three days and two nights, plus there's the opportunity to do five extra pleasure dives. What are you waiting for? Take the plunge!
So what happens on the 'Open Water' adventure? This dive course option consists of two days of theory and pool training then a three day / two night liveaboard dive trip, including nine dives
Day 1 - 2: You'll learn the basics of scuba diving, both classroom and pool, at our modern, purpose built diver training centre in Cairns. Our dive training pool is heated for comfort all year round.
Day 3 - 5: You'll spend time out on the reef on one of our three multi-million dollar live-aboard dive boats. You will have the opportunity to do nine dives on a variety of our exclusive Outer Reef dive sites. These dives consist of four training dives to complete your certification then five additional recreational dives to enjoy your new skills and gain some experience. One of these five dives is a guided night dive.
These extra dives, especially the night dive, will be a highlight of your dive trip.
On the night of day five, after your return from the reef, you have the opportunity to join the crew from your trip for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.Inclusions:
• 9 Dives (4 training dives and 5 pleasure dives – includes 1 night dive)

• 2 x passport photos (for your certification card)

- Dive Medical AUD$55.00 - payable direct to the doctor on day one of the dive course
- The additional fee of AUD$60.00 per person is payable direct to Pro Dive Cairns at the end of your trip. This fee consists of a AUD$18.00 Government Environmental Management Charge (EMC), Port Departure Tax and administration charges.
- Note: Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. For example asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and heart or lung disease, as well as some other medical conditions. If you are still unsure please contact us for more information.
