Days 1 - 2: Nairobi, Moshi and Mandara Hut
You can choose to join the tour in Nairobi or Moshi before heading into Tanzania where you’ll receive a full briefing about the exciting challenge ahead. Then it’s time to make a start on your journey to the top of Africa’s tallest mountain; begin your trek in Kilimanjaro National Park wandering through amazing rainforests and take a well earned rest for the night at Mandara Hut.
Days 3 - 4: Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut and Kibo Hut
You’ll move from rainforest to sparse open moorland towards Horombo Hut. Then onward to complete the final stage of the climb before you attempt the summit; trek between the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, over what’s known as ‘The Saddle’ and bed down at Kibo Hut.
Days 5 - 6: Kibo Hut, Uhuru Peak, Horombo Hut and Moshi
Be prepared for an early start as you attempt the summit. You’ll climb via Gilman’s Point on the rim of the crater itself and onto Uhuru Peak, where you can catch an incredible view of Kenya and Tanzania from the Roof of Africa!
After you’ve taken in this once in a lifetime experience, you will start climbing down to Horombo Hut for a bit of recuperation before completing your descent to Moshi via Marangu Gate.
Day 7: Moshi to Nairobi
If you would like to head back to Nairobi, a shuttle bus will collect you after breakfast, arriving back in Nairobi late afternoon. Or you can choose to stay in Moshi and continue your adventure on your own!
