After arriving in Marrakech, we head off to the magnificent three-tiered waterfall of Cascades D’Ouzoud for a quick paddle before meeting our Berber family – goats, mules, sheeps and all! We’ll be travelling with this family for the next 7 days, following their bi-annual migration from the High Atlas to the lower Dades Valley. The days will be spent following the route of the herd of livestock through the mountain ranges of North Africa whilst nights will be spent camping Berber-style. Spectacular scenery, stunning panoramic views and picturesque Berber villages all await you on this unique journey where the unpredictable nature of the herd adds to the sense of adventure. Our last night of camping will be in the beautiful Dades Gorge where we bid farewell to our hosts. We travel back to Marrakech stopping first for your very own Alexander the Great moment at Ouarzazate, where the film was shot. No trip to Morocco would be complete without one attempt at rocking the Kasbah and the fortified city of Ait Benhaddou offers just that.
During the trek we will be guided by the Berber family and we provide the services of a cook with mules or camels carrying our rucksacks. You’ll be provide with all your meals whilst trekking and in Marrakech you’ll get to stay in a traditional Moroccon riad.
